CNN's 'New Day' Falsely News Pele Death

The newscast network's morning show deleted the mistaken tweet and well-known that the Brazilian soccer star's representative states "he's alive and very well."

CNN's New Day morning show make an apology for a breaking news tweet sent to its 55,000 followers on Friday that the wrong way stated that Brazilian soccer legend Pele had died at age 74.

The tweet was removed (not before Circa editor-in-chief Anthony De Rosa flagged the item, seen below) and the account consequently sent two tweets noticing that Pele's representative had stated that he was "alive and very well."

A CNN speaker tells THR that the breaking news tweet was not the consequence of a hack.
