The situation in Telugu states is different for "Rudhramadevi" but the scene in Tamilnadu is quite different. If collections from Chennai are anything to go by, then we have to say that this Gunasekhar directorial has beaten big stars like Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan.
On first weekend of its release, Mahesh Babu's "Srimanthudu" has collected 41.3 lakhs 'gross' from both Telugu and Tamil versions. Ram Charan is no better, as his "Bruce Lee" collected 39.5 lakhs from both versions at Chennai city. Guess how much "Rudhramadevi" has made. This film collected nearly 81.3 lakhs 'gross' from its both versions in Chennai, proving that Anushka's craze is far more high than our heroes. However, the film may not run for a longer time due to many Tamil flicks lined up for release in the coming days.
On the flip side, Rudhramadevi has collected 35 crores "share" from worldwide box office after a week of its run at box office. Still, the movie has to collect another 35 crores to save distributors and 20 crores move to bail out Gunasekhar. We have to see what happens.
