Digital "Sankarabharanam" Release in Tamil

K. Vishwanath’s yesteryear blockbuster Sankarabharanam (1979) created sensation at box-office, led to an upsurge in usage of Indian classical music in Indian cinema and is now getting ready for release in Tamil after 34 years of its theatrical release in Telugu. According to sources, the classical film will be dubbed in Tamil with the same name “Sankarabharanam” and will release it in a digitized (Convert picture or Sound into a digital form) setup.


The movie is deliberated to be one of the finest films to emerge from Tollywood, having won four National Film Awards and five Nandi Awards, and showcased at several international film festivals, particularly in Indian panorama of the 8th International Film Festival of India in 1980 and Moscow Film Festival. The movie has also won the Prize of the Public at the Besancon Film Festival of France in the year 1981


J.V Somayajulu and Manju Bhargavi are the lead roles; Rajalakshmi, Allu Ramalingaiah, Nirmalamma, Sakshi Ranga Rao and Chandra Mohan are played key lead roles.

The film was produced by Edida Nageshwara Rao on Poornodaya Movie creations and music composed by KV Mahadevan. Dialogues have written by Jandhyala.
