Jazz Musician Orin Keepnews dies at 94

Jazz Musician Orin Keepnews expired at his home in California,he was 94 and died yesterday which got confirmed by his son.Orrin received four Grammy awards,Trustees Award for Lifetime Achievement from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in 2004 and the title of Jazz Master by the National Endowment for the Arts in 2011.Orrin was good Journalist and record writer,he also served in Air Force during World War II, flying bombing raids over Japan. He began his career as Journalist in mid 20's,his early profile was of Thelonious Monk for the publication The Record Changer.In 1993,Orrin patnered with his classmate of Columbia University where he studied English to form Riverside Records. He produced the latter’s seminal record Brilliant Corners, Sonny Rollins’ Freedom Suite and Everbody Digs Bill Evans.He also founded Milestone Records and Landmark Records.He released a collection ‘The View From Within: Jazz
