National Anthem In Courts? No Says Supreme Court, Dismisses Plea

A petition was filed according to which National Anthem should be made mandatory before the start of court proceedings in all the courts in the country, just days after it was made mandatory by Supreme Court that National Anthem to be played at movie theatres.

But Supreme Court has rejected the plea to play National Anthem mandatorily in courts and said that its order should not be stretched. The Supreme Court order to play National Anthem before the start of every movie, had attracted nation – wide attention.

Although no order was passed regarding standing while national anthem is played in movie theatres, Supreme Court had said that it is everyone’s duty to stand.
