Nirmala Convent Hero Exclusive Interview

Nirmala convent hero roshan interview

I said yes to Nirmala Convent only because Nag sir is part of it
Pranita Jonnalagedda.

Actors Srikanth and Ooha gave their son Roshan plenty of tips, but they never went to sets to watch him perform shares the first time hero
From the looks of it, Nirmala Convent, seems like a perfect launch pad for a newbie hero. However, Roshan didn't think so when his dad, Srikanth first suggested the idea. “I said no outright because I wanted to continue my education,“ recalls the 17-year-old who changed his mind the moment his dad dropped King Nag's name. “When my dad mentioned that Nag sir was part of the film, I realised that it's a film I need to be part of. How many actors get to share the screen with a superstar like Nag sir in their first film,“ shares Roshan who is playing a school boy, who's madly in love with his schoolmate in the teenage romance, directed by G Naga Koteshwara Rao.
Talking about his character he says, “I play a Christian boy Samuel. He is an all-rounder who excels in both academics and extra curricular activities. And trust me it wasn't easy. For one, I've never really been a great student. I was good with everything else other than studies though.“ And being the son of two seasoned actors Srikanth and Ooha, Roshan had plenty of acting tips to count on. “Both of them gave me tips. But neither my dad nor mom hardly ever came to the sets. They knew I'd become conscious in their presence. My dad may have come two times but my mom never came. She knows that I'd be very nervous,“ he says smiling.

However, his dad couldn't hold his tears back when Roshan came on stage to make his first speech. “I have seen my dad anxious before the release of his films but I've never seen him cry. And at the audio launch, he became emotional hearing me talk. Both my parents were really surprised to see that I could talk so much. I think it was a moment of realisation that I have grown up,“ shares the actor, who surprisingly is planning to take a break from films. “I will cherish this film forever. But I will take a break for a few years. Because right now I will only be offered similar roles. I want to keep Nirmala Convent special. I will be back with a bang though because the next time, I will be well prepared -I will better my acting, diction, dances and fights...everything,“ he says, signing off.

Nirmala Convent, produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni, Nimmagadda Prasad under Annapurna Studios and Matrix Team Works, is releasing on Sep 16.
Pink, presented by Rashmi Sharma Films and produced by Rising Sun Films, releases on September 16.
