RP Patnaik refuses to attend Uday Kiran's funeral

Well-known Singer-composer R.P. Patnaik, who had worked with late actor Uday Kiran, says he doesn't have the courage to appear the funeral arranged to take place here Tuesday.

Uday Kiran reportedly committed suicide Sunday by hanging himself from the ceiling in his flat. He was 33.

Uday Kiran's last rites will be done in the evening. His body is kept at the AP Film Chamber of Commerce for the public to pay their last respects.

"I don't think I have the courage to attend his funeral. I'm watching the proceeding on television and I feel so heavy listening to the songs I composed for him being played in the background," Patnaik told IANS.

RP Patnaik had given music for six of Uday Kiran's movies -- "Chitram", "Nuvvu Nenu", "Manasantha Nuvve", "Sreeram", "Nee Sneham" and "Neeku Nenu Naaku Nuvvu".

"I have so many memories with him. I can still remember the fun we have had every time we worked together. I still can't believe he chose to end his life like this," he said.

Uday Kiran reportedly ended his life for the reason that he was depressed after not getting roles in movies.

He was born on Jan 26, 1980 and he made his filmic debut with Telugu romantic-film Teja’s "Chitram" in 2000. He went on to act in a number of successful movies such as "Nuvvu Nenu", "Manasantha Nuvve" and Nee Shneham. Uday Kiran had also worked in Tamil movies such as "Poi" and "Pen Singam".
